A student of Moscow school No. 1504 became a laureate of the “History of the Family – the History of the Fatherland” contest

The House of the Russian Historical Society summed up the results of two competitions: “History in School: Traditions and Innovations” and “History of the Family – History of the Fatherland”, which were held with the support of the Russian Ministry of Education. Yaroslava Rozumyanskaya, a student of the Moscow School No. 1504, became one of the winners of the competition.

This year, 900 history teachers from all regions of Russia, as well as from countries near and far abroad, participated in the first competition, “History in School: Traditions and Innovations”. They went through two competitive stages: they wrote an essay on the topic “History is a road leading from the past to the future”, and also prepared a 45-minute video lesson on one of the given topics. As a result of the competition, three winners from each federal district received cash prizes.

According to Sergey Naryshkin, chairman of the Russian Historical Society, history as a subject shapes a person’s personality and civic position, helps to feel ownership of the history of one’s country and one’s people.

“Support for history teachers is a priority for the state,” Sergey Naryshkin noted. – Interest in history is increasing every year, and this is very important. Everything must be done so that Russia, our country with its great achievements, is at the head of the history that the schoolchildren of our country study, and that we never forget our victories.

In the second competition, “History of the Family – History of the Fatherland”, research papers were written by schoolchildren. The jury selected six people who became winners and laureates of the competition. Among them was the Moscow schoolgirl Yaroslava Rozumyanskaya.
