A scientist at the University of Ottawa doubled the age of the universe in a new study of red mixing.

University of Ottawa scientist Rajendra Gupta in his research proposed to consider the redshift as a hybrid phenomenon, as a result of which the estimate of the age of the universe almost doubled – from 13.8 billion years to 26.7 billion years. The new model will explain the problem of early galaxies and the age of some stars, which is estimated to be older than the age of the universe, which cannot be.

The current estimate of the age of the universe according to the Lambda-CDM model is based on the cosmological constant in the face of the supposed dark energy, the existence of which has not yet been confirmed. In the current study, Canadian scientists cite ancient galaxies discovered in June by the James Webb telescope that formed 300 million years after the Big Bang. They have the level of evolution and mass characteristic of galaxies billions of years old. Also, the new theory would explain the existence of the star Methuselah, whose age is estimated at 16 billion years.
