Petersburg woman was declared dead and did not pay her pension for 6 years
The prosecutor’s office of St. Petersburg demanded to pay a pension for 6 years to a city dweller who was mistakenly recognized as dead in 2016. It is reported by “Fontanka“.
The publication notes that the woman retired in old age in 2009. However, in 2016, based on erroneous information from the registry office, an act was drawn up on her death, after which the Russian woman was no longer paid a pension.
The Petersburger was able to prove that she was actually alive only a few years later, the payment of pensions was resumed from June 2022.
In turn, the prosecutor filed a lawsuit against the St. Petersburg branch of the Pension and Social Insurance Fund, demanding to pay the woman a pension for the period when she was considered dead: from February 2016 to May 2022.
