In the Stavropol region, neurosurgeons removed an eight-centimeter branch from the eye of a local resident
The Ministry of Health of the Stavropol Territory, in a publication on its official telegram channel, reports that in the Stavropol region, neurosurgeons removed an eight-centimeter piece of a branch from the eye of a local resident, with which she had been walking for a whole week.
According to the regional Ministry of Health, a 45-year-old Russian woman lost consciousness while she was in the garden. After this, as the department noted, she stopped seeing in one eye, but sought medical help only a week later, when pus began to emerge from her lower eyelid.
Doctors determined that a foreign object penetrated through the woman’s eye socket and severed her optic nerve. It is noted that the Russian woman underwent an operation to remove a foreign object, which turned out to be a fragment of a branch 8 centimeters long.
The Ministry of Health added that after surgery the patient is recovering, but her vision could not be restored.
