A Russian who spilled paint on his ballots was sent to a pre-trial detention center

Sources close to law enforcement agencies said URA.RUthat a preventive measure in the form of detention was chosen against a resident of the city of Kurtamysh in the Kurgan region, who poured paint on the ballots.

The relevant information was also confirmed to the publication in the Kurgan City Court. Representatives of the court’s press service indicated that a preventive measure was chosen against the attacker in the form of detention for a period of two months. It is noted that the Kurgan resident will remain in the pre-trial detention center until May 15.

As noted in the publication, a 51-year-old resident of Kurtamysh was detained by law enforcement officers after he poured liquid with paint on a ballot box. In connection with the incident, a criminal case was opened under Part 2 of Article 141 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Obstruction of the work of election commissions”). Investigators petitioned to take the man into custody, the court agreed with the ICR officers.
