In the Krasnoyarsk Territory, doctors saved a schoolboy who lost two heart valves

In the Krasnoyarsk Territory, doctors from several hospitals saved a child with an infectious lesion of the brain and heart. He lost 20 kilograms and lost the ability to walk. This was reported by the regional Ministry of Health.

An 11-year-old schoolboy fell ill with an infection with ARVI symptoms in December last year. However, as a result of home treatment, he did not improve.

In the district hospital, an intracerebral hemorrhage was detected, and in Krasnoyarsk, neurosurgeons removed the intracerebral hematoma.

After this, the patient’s condition continued to deteriorate, and the infection completely destroyed two heart valves.

The boy was eventually cured of infective endocarditis. The Ministry of Health noted that the mortality rate of this disease reaches 30 percent.
