The head of the Berezovsky district of Ugra, Pavel Arteev, admitted on social networks that he caused the accident while drunk.
The accident occurred on the night of November 24-25, when the official lost control of the car and flew into a ditch.
Arteev decided that he could not hide this offense from the residents and repented. “I am doubly guilty before you that, as an official who is entrusted to represent your interests and work for the benefit of the people, he showed an example of unworthy behavior,” he wrote on social networks.
The government official stressed that he was ready to be punished, while some users unexpectedly supported him, considering this confession a brave act.
