Blogger and combat veteran Sergei Parshikov (call sign “Lynya”) in conversation with radio “Komsomolskaya Pravda” said that some car owners in Russia prefer to drive with license plates without a state flag, admitting that in this way they can express their reluctance to be associated with the Russian Federation.
According to the blogger, in his Telegram channel, many subscribers said that even some patriots consider the number with the flag ugly. Parshikov claims that the theme with the flag has already been introduced as a subculture, that is, people with tuned cars believe that a small tricolor badge, occupying less than 1% of the car’s area, is “variegated.”
In fact, according to the publication’s interlocutor, everything is much deeper. He pointed out that if you look, you can see a large number of premium cars in cities that do not want to associate themselves with the Russian Federation, and this is developing from year to year. Parshikov emphasized that it has now become fashionable to drive license plates without a state flag in the national republics of the country, where there are “enormous numbers” of such license plates.
The blogger added that at the moment this is legal due to the fact that the Russian Federation has several “outdated regulations”, in particular, the GOST document from 1993 allows driving with license plates without the country’s flag. Parshikov is convinced that the corresponding legislative gap should be eliminated, and license plates should be brought to a single standard
