A resident of the Lipetsk region who killed a 40-year-old pedestrian was charged 300 thousand rubles.
The Yelets City Court found a 28-year-old resident of the Lipetsk region guilty of hitting a 40-year-old man on the Southern Entrance to Yelets road on March 10, 2023 while driving. He died from his injuries at the scene.
A criminal case was initiated under Part 3 of Art. 264 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, reports gorod48.ru. The woman was charged 300 thousand rubles in moral compensation to the mother of the deceased, who was recognized as a victim. The driver is also required to pay the cost of paying for the services of a representative in the amount of 3,000 rubles and the cost of paying a state fee of 300 rubles.
The mother of the deceased demanded compensation for moral damage in the amount of 1,500,000 rubles. The defense argued that the man who was hit by the accused was intoxicated and asked to reduce the amount of compensation to 100 thousand rubles. The court took into account the circumstances of the accident and that the woman was on maternity leave for up to 3 years.
