A resident of Novosibirsk who taught a dog to shoot was sentenced

A 55-year-old resident of Novosibirsk, who collected weapons on his own and taught his dog to shoot, was found guilty under the articles of paragraph “c” part 3 of Art. 222 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (illegal acquisition, storage, transportation of guns, main parts of firearms), part 1 of Art. 223 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (illegal manufacture of tools),” the Izvestia newspaper reports, citing the prosecutor’s office of the Novosibirsk Region.
The verdict was reportedly handed down by the district court. It was established that for the past 3 years the convict had illegally bought spare parts and independently produced firearms – pistols and rifles. His actions, as well as an attempt to teach a dog to shoot a firearm, he explained by the desire to hunt. The report says the man pleaded guilty in court.
The verdict of the court was as follows – six and a half years in prison, while the punishment will be executed conditionally for four years. The convict was also deprived of the right to engage in activities related to the acquisition, storage, carrying of weapons for a period of three years. In addition, he was fined 200 thousand rubles.
