A resident of Kalmykia won five awards at the Para-Art festival.

A resident of the village of Priyutnoye, Alexander Chmelev, took part in the XIII festival of culture and sports among disabled people “Para-Art”, which was held recently in Sochi.

An athlete from Kalmykia competed in several disciplines and was able to take prizes. He has three silver medals in laser biathlon, orienteering and backgammon, as well as two bronze medals in table tennis and darts.

Activists who have various restrictions take part in the Para-Art festival. This year, 70 people from different regions of Russia took part in it.

The festival allows everyone to demonstrate their athletic skills in adaptive sports. “Para-Art” also brings together wheelchair dancers, vocalists, poets, artists and craftsmen.
