The representative of former Barcelona and Brazil national team player Dani Alves, Akaz Fellegge, denied information about the athlete’s suicide. Earlier, journalist Paulo Albuquerque wrote about this on the social network X (ex-Twitter).

“The information was posted on Twitter by the profile of Paulo Albuquerque from Rio de Janeiro. Without any reason. No truthfulness. I spoke with a lawyer, and this irresponsible person should be sued,” Mr. Fellegge said in a conversation with the Brazilian publication Itatiaia.

On March 9, a message about the suicide of a football player appeared on the account of Brazilian journalist Paulo Albuquerque (@Al_buquerq). “I have received information that Daniel Alves has committed suicide,” the post reads. No other details are provided. 12.5 thousand people subscribe to Paulo Albuquerque’s account, however, major Brazilian sports publications did not comment on the report of Alves’ death.

On February 22, a Spanish court found Dani Alves guilty of raping a 23-year-old girl. The football player received four and a half years in prison. According to investigators, the rape occurred in December 2022 at a Sutton nightclub. In January 2023, the football player was detained. Alves claims the sexual intercourse was consensual. He plans to appeal the verdict to the court’s appellate chamber.

Dani Alves is 40 years old. Since July 2022, he has played for the Mexican club Pumas, and before that for Bahia and Sao Paulo, Juventus, PSG, Sevilla and Barcelona. Dani Alves is one of the most titled football players in history (winner of 43 trophies).
