A rapist who killed a woman in Izmailovsky Park 25 years ago has been sentenced

A 45-year-old man was sentenced today by the Izmailovsky Court in Moscow to 15 years in prison for the rape and murder of a woman.
As reported by the press service of the Moscow Prosecutor’s Office, in October 1999, on the 2nd street of the Izmailovsky Menagerie, in a forested area, a drunk man committed rape and sexual assault against an unfamiliar woman. Fearing that the victim would report to law enforcement, he strangled her and fled the crime scene. He was detained in September 2023 in Vladimir.
