A mass sports race was held in Budennovsk, dedicated to the memory of Ivan Vorobyov and all the fallen aviators, as reported in the Telegram channel of the Budennovsky district.

Major Ivan Aleksandrovich Vorobyov was a pilot of an assault aviation regiment. On March 4, 2022, his plane, returning from a combat mission, was hit by an enemy missile. Ivan, having received serious injuries, was able to eject, but later died. For courage, heroism, bravery and dedication shown in the performance of military duty, Major Ivan Vorobyov was posthumously awarded the Order of Courage.

The race started on the morning of April 6 from the stopping complex of the Stavrolen plant. About 150 people took part in it: military personnel of the Budennovsky garrison, employees of law enforcement and rescue departments, students of sports schools, residents of the Kumya region.

The length of the route was about 3 km. The finishing point was the memorial area of ​​the park for the 200th anniversary of Budennovsk.

At the end of the event, those gathered honored the memory of the fallen defenders by laying flowers at the monuments of the fallen aviators.

It was previously reported that in Zheleznovodsk they are preparing for the annual climb to Beshtau.
