The plane, which was flying from Sochi to Omsk and made an emergency landing in a wheat field, is still located on the territory of the Lenin collective farm in the Novosibirsk region. There are no plans to remove or remove it yet. Employees of the collective farm on whose land the airliner was parked spoke about the fate of the airbus.
On September 12, the crew of an Airbus A320 flying from Sochi to Omsk sent a distress signal after a hydraulic system failure. The plane urgently landed in a field near the village of Kamenka in the Ubinsky district of the Novosibirsk region.
More than two weeks have passed since the emergency landing. The plane is still parked on the field. There are no plans to remove it yet.
– The plane was repaired. As we understand, he was not seriously damaged, one might say, practically unharmed. Any problems that existed have been corrected. Most likely, it will take off on its own. But we don’t yet imagine how this is possible,” shared a collective farm employee. – In any case, we were notified that the liner would not take to the skies before winter.
The ground needs to freeze. Now the soil is soft. They say that in the cold season it is more likely that it will be able to take off. This is probably what they are counting on. If anything happens, they will flood the ground and try it.
-Your work has probably stopped?
– We haven’t harvested the wheat yet. The work was suspended, but not because of the plane, it was just raining, the ground was wet, and it was impossible to clean up yet. The frost will hit, and then, most likely, we will start cleaning around the plane.
But there are still a lot of problems with the airliner. We won’t be able to plow the ground until it takes off. In addition, the specialists who maintain the aircraft often turn to us for help, either they need to stretch a tractor or something else.
– Is the plane being guarded?
– Guarded around the clock. They surrounded him with a ribbon. The booth was set up.
– Have you presented the amount of damage to the airline?
– Representatives of the airline themselves called and asked to announce the amount of damage. But until the plane is taken from the field, it is difficult to understand how much damage was done to the ground. So we have put off making payments for now. We will submit claims after the plane is picked up.
Now the liner stands with us as a monument. 40 cars a day come here, people want to take pictures nearby. Lots of weddings. People go and go. And they get there from afar. You can easily drive to the plane; a country road leads to it. And in kindergartens, participants in the “Gifts of Autumn” project are now sculpting not vegetables and fruits, but airplanes.
After the emergency landing of the plane in a field, the airline stated that it was ready to restore the aircraft and keep it in its fleet. However, some experts believed that it was easier to write off the plane than to restore it, citing that it was risky to repair the plane without the participation of the manufacturer Airbus. And in Russia there are no specialists who could restore the aircraft with the required accuracy.
