A photo of two men with ice cream scared a Russian official with “LGBT propaganda”

A deputy of the Novosibirsk City Council reported on a scandal that occurred in the local cultural commission over a photograph. In a conversation with Sib.fm she toldthat the head of the cultural commission, Alexander Tarasov, saw LGBT propaganda in the photo of two men eating ice cream in the cold (the Supreme Court previously recognized the “international public movement of LGBT” as an extremist organization and banned it).

According to Kaverzina, when officials were recently shown a presentation of the new municipal program “Culture and Tourism,” the slides included a photo of 2020 taken by members of a tourist club in the center of Novosibirsk. In the photo, two young men, dressed in summer clothes, are eating ice cream in front of a board with the temperature: minus 33 degrees.

Kaverzina reported that the head of the commission considered that the photograph was “related to non-traditional relationships.” According to her, he explained that if men lick ice cream, it looks suspicious.

“Tarasov called these two men “tender and snowy,” Kaverzina noted. “He asked me not to display this photograph anywhere next time.”

One of the heroes of this photo, local resident Alexander Grigoriev, later stated journalists that this is “utter nonsense” and that “everyone sees to the extent of their depravity.”
