The first patient with a brain implant played chess “with the power of thought”

The American neurotechnology company Neuralink, founded by billionaire Elon Musk, broadcast on its page on the social network X a unique chess game played by a patient with a brain implant.

In the video, 29-year-old Nolan Arbaugh moved a cursor across a game board on a laptop screen and thus rearranged the pieces using the “power of thought.”

A young man, paralyzed 8 years ago after an accident, admitted that his life has noticeably changed for the better.

“It’s not perfect yet, there’s still a lot of work to be done, but my life has already changed,” Arbaugh said.

He also said that he plays various computer games, not only chess.
