A 37-year-old woman who came to the doctor because of abdominal cramps was found to have a baby in her intestines. As it turned out, the mother of two children is 23 weeks pregnant, but this time the pregnancy turned out to be ectopic.
According to The New England Journal of Medicine, an ultrasound showed that the fetus was developing in the space between the stomach and intestines, while the fetus was normally formed.
The publication says that an ectopic pregnancy is almost always fatal for the child, but French doctors managed to ensure that the child was born at 29 weeks.
