How informs Andrey Bobrovsky, Candidate of Medical Sciences, dietitian, associate professor of the medical faculty of St. Petersburg State University Andrei Bobrovsky told reporters that excessive consumption of corn can adversely affect human health.
According to the expert, corn is a healthy product, as it is rich in antioxidants, vitamins, minerals and fiber. The latter is useful for the prevention of diseases of the cardiovascular, digestive and nervous systems.
However, Bobrovsky recalled that corn has a rather high calorie content.
“This is not a product for daily use … In the season, you can eat it several times a week. A portion of an adult is about 200 grams. One cob will be enough to get the daily allowance,” the nutritionist specified.
