Representatives of the Russian Knight Foundation for the Preservation of Cultural Heritage opened a monument to the USSR Secretary General Joseph Stalin on the territory of the Mikron plant in the city of Velikie Luki, said “RIA News” deputy general director of the fund, documentary filmmaker Vladimir Parshikov.
“The height of the monument is eight meters; its project was created by sculptor Mikhail Krasilnikov four years ago. Today, after three years of searching, we were able to erect a monument on the territory of the Mikron plant,” Mr. Parshikov said.
The deputy general director of the fund said that the Russian Knight was considering the possibility of erecting a monument in the Moscow region and Voronezh, but the local authorities did not agree on the project. The monument is installed in front of the main entrance to the enterprise.
The monument to Joseph Stalin was erected in Velikiye Luki as part of a fund project called “Generalissimo of Victory”. “Monument to the great humanist I.V. At the next stage of the implementation of the project, the Russian Knight plans to open a monument to Joseph Stalin in the village of Turukhansk in the Krasnoyarsk Territory, the last place of exile of the former leader of the USSR.
