The event was attended by the widow of the USSR master of sports Vera Stepanovna, deputy head of the education department Natalya Gushchina, champion of Anapa and Kuban, representative of the resort Chess Federation Evgeniy Demurin.
Those present emphasized that it is important to preserve the memory of the man who raised more than one generation of sports masters and grandmasters. The coach also instilled in thousands of children a love of chess.
The chess player worked as the director of sports school No. 2 in the resort city from 1989 to 1997. As part of the ceremony, participants brought flowers to the memorial plaque of Alexei Osachuk. Then over 50 athletes competed for the title of winners of the school championship, tried to obtain sports ranks and exchanged experiences with like-minded people.
Earlier, MK in Kuban wrote that Anapa choir won an award at the All-Russian festival stage.
