In Pyatigorsk, on the occasion of Defender of the Fatherland Day, a mass ascent of young people to the top of Mount Beshtau is taking place. The mayor of the city, Dmitry Voroshilov, spoke about this.
27 teams are participating in the climb. The traditional ascent is carried out along a single route from the city of Lermontov. Teams must climb the highest peak of the Caucasian Mineralnye Vody, which is 1400m high.
The Beshtau military sports game also takes place here. It has no analogues in the world in terms of its length, height difference, mass scale and duration. Participants will have to complete a series of tasks: tie knots, take azimuths, compete in providing first aid to conditionally injured people.
On the descent, the teams will enjoy a competitive program, as well as summing up the results, hot tea and delicious pies.
It was previously reported that Stavropol residents brought pies and pastries from mothers and grandmothers to the front line for the Northern Military District soldiers.
