She became ill from eating fallen apples

The director of a British business support company, Ismail Elmagdoub, got rid of trees in his garden from the last century because his dog ate fallen apples. Such an “exquisite” meal, according to the dog’s owner, “made the animal feel unwell” and led to diabetes. In addition, the trees attracted wasps.

A resident of the picturesque Cotswolds in southwest England, Ismail Elmagdoub appeared in court on a very specific case. The director of business support company Crab Apple Services Ltd illegally felled three historic apple trees in his garden because his dog became ill after eating the tree’s fallen fruit. The man added that the trees attracted wasps, which “caused problems” for his family.

For this difficult task, the businessman hired a contractor. But the problem was that Ismail was warned that the vegetation was in a protected area. All arguments were ignored by both the owner of the garden and the hired contractor.

At the trial, Elmagdub apologized, admitting that he “acted thoughtlessly.” However, this did not help him. The court ordered the “animal lover” to pay a fine of 8,884 pounds sterling (almost 1 million rubles).

Speaking to the Daily Mail, the businessman admitted: “I didn’t realize my garden fence was the boundary of a conservation area. The trees were about 8 feet from the boundary – we had several wasp nests there and my daughter got stung. The dog developed diabetes due to eating apples.”
