A large family from Germany received temporary asylum in the Russian Federation

A large family fled from Germany to Russia; people asked the Russian authorities for asylum out of fear that the German authorities would take their children away. This was announced on Tuesday, December 19, by the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation.
As official representative of the department Irina Volk clarified, the Harder family with six children, four of whom are minors, arrived in the Kaluga region in November. The parents said that they were afraid that the German juvenile police would remove their children from the family.
The arrivals turned to the migration authorities of the Russian Federation with a request for temporary asylum. The application was approved, and members of the Harder family were solemnly given the appropriate certificates.
Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin, summing up the results of 2023 on live television, said that Russia welcomes all law-abiding citizens of other states who want to move to live and work on Russian soil. The head of state recalled that Russia has legislation governing the acquisition of citizenship.
Meanwhile, the State Duma was introduced bill on granting a residence permit (residence permit) foreign citizens who have been subjected to criminal prosecution for expressing a position in support of the Russian Federation.
