A high-ranking official of the Federal Forestry Agency received a criminal record in the Moscow region and … a new position in the Belgorod region. The accusation of abuse of power did not prevent him from taking the next step up the career ladder.
As it became known to “MK”, we are talking about the former head of the Department of Natural Resources of the Federal Forestry Agency for the Central Federal District Vladimir Shchedrygin. He was involved in an ugly story with an official living space in Pushkino near Moscow. A spacious apartment (104 square meters) worth 9 million rubles was on the balance sheet of a state institution. It was empty for 10 years, it had no doors, no floor, no furniture.
Shchedrygin decided to take advantage of his official position and take over the apartment. During the next vacation, the head of the Department asked the person replacing him to sign a lease agreement for an empty apartment in the name of Shchedrygin. Then the dignitary registered himself and his student daughter there. The next step, as conceived by the official, was to be the transfer of the apartment from federal ownership to municipal ownership, after which he could become a full-fledged owner of housing. But Shchedrygin did not have time to do this – the deception was revealed, and law enforcement officers opened a criminal case. It is characteristic that the head of the Department was not in poverty at all: according to the declaration for 2020, he had at his disposal 3 land plots, a residential building, an apartment and a room.
Shchedrygin was removed from the post of head of the Department. However, he did not remain unemployed. The man received the post of deputy head of the administration of the Belgorod district of the Belgorod region, where he began his career as a forester. Recently, the Pushkinsky court passed a verdict in the case of fraud with an apartment – a fine of 80 thousand rubles. True, while a criminal record does not prevent the official from continuing to work in the civil service.
