In Kabardino-Balkaria, at the foot of Elbrus, they plan to build a high-altitude sports training center for Russian national winter sports teams, according to the Telegram channel of the Russian Presidential Envoy to the North Caucasus Federal District.
The Minister of Sports of the KBR Islam Khasanov said that a list of measures has been prepared for the construction of sports facilities until 2030. It includes the construction of 84 and reconstruction of 6 objects.
It is also planned to carry out a major overhaul of 30 sports facilities. To develop the sports infrastructure in the Elbrus region, it is planned to create a high-altitude federal sports training center for sports teams in winter sports.
Three more sports facilities are being prepared for reconstruction: the Spartak stadium in the capital of the republic, the air support structure of the Nalchik sports complex and the Baksan sports and recreation complex in the city of Tyrnyauz.
The total amount of funds allocated for these purposes is more than 8.5 billion rubles.
It was previously reported that in Arkhyz, a new cable car will take tourists to an observation deck at 3030 m.
