A girl from Tatarstan won gold at the national karate championship

The Russian Karate Championship among cadets and juniors aged 14–20 took place in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk from November 30 to December 4. A student of the Almetyevsk karate school, Kamilla Garipova, was awarded a gold medal in the junior category up to 48 kilograms, reports Tatar-inform news agency.
Camilla has been training in Kazan for a year at the Ak Bure sports school and confidently became the national champion. On the third day, juniors 18–20 years old performed, Kamilla Bikmullina performed wonderfully – she won silver in the category up to 68 kg, said the President of the Karate Federation of the Republic of Tatarstan Iskander Shagin.
More than seven hundred athletes from 51 regions of Russia took part in the tournament. These competitions became qualifying competitions for the European Championship in February 2024 in Georgia. Based on the results of the performances, the Russian youth team will be selected.
