A four-year-old girl died because of her mother’s spree and the bullying of her cohabitants

Message about the death of Alena Sh. (name changed. – Auth.) came from the Moscow Children’s City Hospital. The results of the autopsy do not describe the condition of the child, but from it it is clear that a 4-year-old girl was abused in a perverted form. In addition, she had an advanced form of chronic renal failure, which, apparently, was the cause of death.

The child’s birth mother is a 34-year-old resident of a village in Tyva, Alla Sh. (not her real name). A certain Tatyana is recorded as a guardian. It was she who brought the child from the Kyzyl Republican Hospital to Moscow, and now she has taken over all the necessary paperwork about the death. When asked by the doctors who she is Marusya, the woman answered in tears: “Yes, no one. I just feel sorry for the child.”

“MK” managed to talk with the named guardian of 4-year-old Marusya and learn about the monstrous conditions in which the girl lived for less than five years. Tatyana is sure that her own mother did everything to ruin her daughter.

– She drinks without drying out, does not work anywhere. In her house, devastation, constantly full of men. Where she finds them is not clear… When Alka gave birth to a daughter, she did not even take her from the hospital. The girl immediately went to the hospital and lived there for some time.

Who do you think could have committed child abuse?

– Yes, anyone. She left her daughter where she had to and with whom she had to. Once Alena was found in a ditch – in winter, in frost. Her mother left her at home with her drunken friends, and she herself disappeared for several days.

Did you know about the abuse?

“It’s a dark story. A year and a half ago, Alena was admitted to the hospital. Local doctors told us that she had a prolapse of the rectum. And they didn’t seem to make any noise. But my friend saw the girl. She studied to be a doctor and immediately said what really happened … Who could have committed such terrible acts? I’m thinking of Alka’s then roommate. He was hanging around with her at that time, and then he moved somewhere beyond the Sayans. He was not seen again.

The child was admitted to the hospital with chronic kidney disease. Did the kidney problems also appear due to the fault of the mother?

– Certainly. She went naked in the winter. I somehow decided to visit Alena. I come to Alka, she does not open. I go around the house, I knock on the window, but it is broken. Home is cold. Drunk Alka is sleeping, and Alena is sitting on the floor in one shirt…

– What other relatives did Alena have?

– She has grandfather Sergey, he is Alka’s father and my common-law husband. He is 52 years old. He loved Alena, bought her food, things, took her to him.

Why didn’t Sergey get custody of his granddaughter?

He started to collect documents several times. In 2020, he almost collected, but was arrested for hitting a person. When he left, he continued the procedure. The case went to court. Alka came to the court and said that she would not give the child to anyone. And the court left Alena with her.

Is the girl’s father known?

Yes, but he’s not local. At one time he lived in our village. He does not have a permanent place of residence, so he nailed to Alka. Alena is his first child, although he is many years old, he looks to be 70, but he does not say exactly how much. He is a good man. Got a job in a store. They lived badly with Alka, they constantly quarreled. She kicked him out. He will take Alenka and come to us with her. And then Alka comes and takes away her daughter…

– Was the situation in the child’s family under the control of the guardianship authorities?

– Alka was registered at the juvenile department. Guardianship will come, take Alenka and send her to a hospital or shelter. Then my own mother comes and says that she has supposedly corrected herself. She is given back her daughter. They believe this mother, who, apart from her men, does not need anything.

– Why did they decide to send Alena to Moscow for treatment?

– On the May holidays, we took the girl to us, but on May 9 Alka came again and demanded a child. The girl was with her for 4 days, and then we find out that Alena is in the hospital. Her whole head is broken. Apparently it fell from somewhere. And then her kidney disease worsened. She was transferred to a republican hospital, and from there to Moscow. But apparently it’s too late. When I took her on the plane, the baby was already on dialysis. I’m so sorry for Alena. The child did not live, but only suffered …

Tatyana regrets that her common-law husband did not have time to take custody of his granddaughter. But, according to the letter of the law, the court did not have the right to entrust guardianship to a citizen who was serving a sentence. Moreover, at present, the policy to protect the rights of the child is not aimed at depriving parental rights, but at an attempt to correct and reason with the parents. Lost moms and dads are given a chance. And yet there must be a limit to the credibility. If a year and a half ago, when the tragedy happened, at the age of three, Alena would have been removed from her family, she would not only have remained alive, but, most likely, now she would have prosperous foster parents: such small children are adopted willingly.

Alla Sh.’s neighbors in the village say that the police could not find her for a long time to report the news of her daughter’s death. When the woman was nevertheless discovered, she promised to give birth to another child.
