YouTube video service launched add on channel pages a special section “For you”, in which videos recommended to the user will be shown. The function will work based on viewing history, and is similar to TikTok mechanisms.
Channel creators will be able to pre-set a section where they can choose whether to show the “For You” section, as well as whether to use videos, Shorts or live broadcasts in it. You can also allow it to show either only new content or all-time videos.
According to YouTube developers, the new feature will be useful for channels with a wide profile and varied content – so, the most relevant content will be immediately shown to users. The “For You” section will help keep users’ attention and increase their engagement.
YouTube previously started test function of showing random video Shorts, as well as presented platform update, in which new features became available to users, including the ability to set a stable volume.
