A firefighter from Chelyabinsk became a three-time world champion in kettlebell lifting

Ilya Tashlanov was entered in the weight category up to 78 kilograms. The press service of the Main Directorate of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations for the Chelyabinsk Region spoke about the successes of the South Ural firefighter.

According to the regional department, Ilya Tashlanov serves in the 3rd fire and rescue unit of Chelyabinsk. He is the assistant chief of the guard. If we talk about sporting achievements, the firefighter has the title of international master of sports. The coach of the newly minted three-time world champion is Ivan Denisov.

Ilya already has two gold medals at the world kettlebell lifting championships. He climbed to the top step of the podium in 2010 and 2014. And the current world championship, which took place in Uzbekistan from September 7 to 12, brought the athlete two medals at once.

An employee of the Ministry of Emergency Situations achieved golden success in the exercise “push two weights weighing 32 kg,” where he performed 150 lifts of the weight. In addition, he participated in the double event. Here Ilya Tashlanov became second in the final standings and, accordingly, won silver.

It should be noted that 600 athletes from 21 countries took part in the last World Kettlebell Lifting Championship.
