Finnish tourist Juha Perttula in an interview with a newspaper Iltalehti stated that Western sanctions had no impact on Russia.
According to a tourist who recently visited St. Petersburg, Russian border guards had a “thorough conversation” with him at the border. At the same time, the employees were “friendly and complied with all regulations.”
“I’ve been to Russia many times before. I lived in St. Petersburg and know it very well. The city now looks exactly the same as before. Only advertising of service at the front prompts any thoughts about military operations in Ukraine,” Perttula noted.
He clarified that in Russian stores you can find “anything”, and in cafes and restaurants “there are many visitors.” Finnish products disappeared from store shelves, but Australian wine and French cognac remained.
Among other things, as the Finnish tourist added, the sanctions imposed on the Russian Federation led to the fact that many goods that were previously imported began to be produced in Russia.
