A dragon appeared in Altai: a famous Russian sculptor presented his new exhibition

The exhibition “Transformation” by the world-famous Russian sculptor Dashi Namdakov opened at the Sber resort “Manzherok” in the Altai Republic. On it, the author showed for the first time a new work called “Dragon”. In total, the exhibition presents 13 works by the creator.

The exhibition, which will run until December 10, is the first in a series of planned exhibition projects at the resort. According to the organizers, Manzherok should become not only a place for active sports and recreation, but also a multicultural space for uniting creative people. Already today, the hotel displays works by artists who create their works in different techniques and art directions.

“This exhibition is a great cultural event not only for Altai, but also for me personally, because I have known Dashi for a long time and there are many of his works in my personal collection. In my opinion, this is an amazing, god-kissed sculptor and artist, a person who creates completely original, unlike anything else, things that make you think and evoke emotions. It is very important that his works will be here in Altai. This is not his first time in Altai and, like all of us, he feels the great energy of these places. And usually, passing through the creativity of a particular person, this is expressed in objects that are even difficult to predict at the moment of feeling this very energy. I thank Dashi for flying in and exhibiting his works, and I congratulate everyone on the opening of such a wonderful exhibition,” said German Gref, President and Chairman of the Board of Sberbank.

“Altai is a divine place, the center of the Universe. There is amazing culture and civilization here. And I am happy that here in Russia they are building facilities such as Manzherok, which the country needs. The collection that arrived here is small, but these are very iconic things. I have done many exhibitions around the world, but today I am especially happy to be in my homeland, in Siberia. This is my most important exhibition, because the easiest way is to do exhibitions somewhere abroad, where no one knows you. But here everyone knows you, and this is a huge responsibility,” added Namdakov.

Let us remind you that Dashi Namdakov is a Russian sculptor, artist and jeweler, member of the Union of Artists of the Russian Federation, corresponding member of the Russian Academy of Arts. His work is based on oriental flavor, the traditions of nomadic peoples and modern symbols. The sculptor’s works conquered East and West, were exhibited more than once in various regions of Russia, and today are presented for the first time in the Altai Republic. He is the author of such monumental sculptural complexes as “Centre of Asia” in Tuva, “Khanshaim” in Kazakhstan, “Keeper” and “Kazan” in Tatarstan, “Golden Shoria” in the Kemerovo region.
