It is planned to submit a bill to the State Duma on violations of product quality requirements within the framework of food sharing (free transfer of food to those in need), TASS writes with reference to the document. The administrative fine for expired products during food sharing, according to the document, will amount to up to 1 million rubles.
Amendments are proposed to be made to Art. 14.43 of the Code of Administrative Offenses “Violations by the manufacturer, performer (a person performing the functions of a foreign manufacturer), or seller of the requirements of technical regulations.” It is planned to hold organizations involved in food sharing liable for violation of product quality requirements.
According to current legislation, the fine for expired products is up to 2 thousand rubles, for officials – up to 20 thousand rubles, for entrepreneurs without forming a legal entity – up to 30 thousand rubles, for legal entities – up to 300 thousand rubles.
February 1, Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Youth Policy Artem Metelev reported, which sent the bill “On Food Sharing” to the government for approval. According to him, he spent three years developing the bill. TASS reported that as part of this initiative, it is planned to introduce amendments on liability for expired products, as well as the abolition of VAT on the transfer of products for charitable purposes.
