A digital register of stray animals has been created in the Kamchatka Territory. Dogs and cats caught on the streets and microchipped will be included in the registry. This was reported by the press service of the government of the Kamchatka Territory.
“The question arose regarding animals. For this purpose, Russian software was purchased, similar to those used by veterinary hospitals to record animals. Work is currently underway to add the animals to the register. The animal is chipped, and all data about it is entered into a single database,” the press service reported (quoted from RIA Novosti).
The card of the chipped animal will contain all the information about it. Then all pets will be included in the registry. This will allow you to quickly find their owners. According to the government of the Kamchatka Territory, more than 3.5 thousand stray animals were caught in the region during the year.
In May 2023, in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky on Toporkova Street, a ten-year-old boy returning home from classes was attacked by three stray dogs. Local authorities paid compensation to the mother of a victim of stray dog bites.
