The Covid pandemic is expectedly becoming a plot point for TV series. Recently, near St. Petersburg, filming began for a project in which recent tragic events will become the basis for a detective story. “MK” found out the details.
The city of Severoneftyansk is designated as the place where the events of the series will unfold. It is there that the main character, former criminal investigation operative Viktor Pugachev, returns. In his hometown, Pugachev is perceived as the source of all troubles, because it was he who became patient zero and the reason for the closure of Severoneftyansk for Covid quarantine, which led to rampant crime. However, Pugachev does not intend to give up and is ready, together with his comrades, to declare war on the bandits.
Anton Momot, who played the main role (the actor is also known for the film “The First Oscar”, the TV series “Union of Salvation. Time of Wrath” and other projects), together with his co-stars, will soon explore the Leningrad region well. The fictional settlement, surrounded by mountains and a huge forest, is a kind of construction set, assembled from the architecture of Slantsy, Shlisselburg and Sestroretsk. General plans of the town, lost among the wild nature, will be filmed in Bashkiria.
Anxiety and uncertainty during quarantine have already become important components of the plots of projects like “Epidemic”. But this time, instead of the mysterious virus, the same covid appears, and the methods of combating it have clearly not been forgotten by millions of Russians. However, in the new series the detective line often comes to the fore. And here the hero of Anton Momot, like other characters, will have to show excellent physical fitness combined with a sense of justice, which is being seriously tested by the coronavirus confusion.
