A decade of sports on Sakhalin ended with alpine skiing competitions

On January 7, Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk hosted the final stage of the Decade of Sports and Health. More than 100 people took part in the alpine skiing competition, the press service of the Ministry of Sports of the Sakhalin Region reported.
Participants of the “Christmas Slalom” descended twice from the training track to STK “Mountain Air” from the middle to the lower station. The fastest result of the athlete was counted. People of different ages came to the start – from 6 to 60 years old.
According to the results of the competition, Ksenia Gaponova, Alberto Erin, Daria Demeshina, Kirill Spitsyn, Maxim Khripunov, Ekaterina Ivanchenko, Semyon Kuptsov, Adelaida Efimchuk, Victoria Vasilyeva, Alexander Globin, Elena Surmina and Evgeny Leush became the winners in their age categories.
All participants were thanked by the Minister of Sports of the region Artem Podshivalov. He noted that all the athletes did well and said that this year more than 10 people have passed all the stages of the Decade, and in the past – only two.
“This suggests that every year the event is gaining popularity and people like it. We do all this just for you. Go in for sports, love sports, try new directions and be healthy,” the minister added.
By the way, the owners of all quarters of the medal-puzzle will be able to take part in the drawing of the main prizes – free passes to visit the “Mountain Air”, a wind tunnel, a pool of a water sports school, and a fitness room “Vostok”.
