The Cheryomushkinsky District Court of Moscow agreed with the prosecutor’s office on the need to detain a minor accused of attempted murder with particular cruelty after setting fire to a teenager in a playground. This was announced on Tuesday, June 6, in the capital’s prosecutor’s office.
During the trial, the accused asked to be placed under house arrest. However, the court found it necessary to place him in custody. He will remain under arrest until at least August 5.
At the same time, the defendant in the case did not admit his guilt in setting the teenager on fire. The law enforcement agencies said that the accused in this case had already come to the attention of law enforcement officers: he was registered with the juvenile department for antisocial behavior.
Earlier it became known that a 14-year-old boy was in intensive care with burns on 80% of his body surface area. The incident occurred on June 5 at the playground on Chechersky passage. The janitor saw a teenager engulfed in flames and began to extinguish it with his jacket. According to eyewitnesses, a tall brunette ran away from the scene.
The mother of the injured guy said that the suspect in the arson of her son is a 15-year-old teenager, who was known for rowdy behavior.
