A Chinese woman tried to smuggle gold bars worth 2.2 million rubles from the Amur region through Blagoveshchensk customs. The Federal Customs Service writes about this in its Telegram channel.
As the department notes, a native of China hid gold in her underwear when leaving Blagoveshchensk.
“Customs officers conducted a personal search and found two gold bars with a cast image of a Chinese character,” the report stated.
The system was triggered when the Chinese woman walked through the metal detector frame. After the signal, the Far Eastern service conducted a personal search, finding the woman two ingots with a cast Chinese character.
Experts have determined that they consist of gold and silver, and their weight is more than 400 grams.
The woman admitted that she hid them in order to make jewelry in China upon arrival.
A criminal case has been initiated against the foreign citizen: she faces up to 7 years in prison, as well as a fine of up to 1 million rubles.
