Chinese chess player Chenglong filed a lawsuit over the deprivation of his championship title after defecating in a hotel bathroom
Chinese chess player Yan Chenglong has sued the national association for being stripped of his title after he got drunk and defecated in a hotel bathtub. This was reported by KSAT.com.
According to the source, the Chinese Xiangqi Association posted on social networks about this incident. She wrote that Chenglong lost his status due to inappropriate behavior that affects the reputation of the tournament. The chess player damaged hotel property and violated public order.
A week later, Chenglong filed a lawsuit demanding compensation for moral damages for defamation and the return of champion status. He estimated the damage caused to him at 100 thousand yuan (1.2 million rubles). In his lawsuit, he did not deny that he defecated in the bathroom. But he did this only because he did not have time to run to the toilet due to digestive problems.
