The siege of Leningrad is one of the most terrible pages in the history of our country. However, chess tournaments were held in the city on the Neva even in these difficult conditions. 12 people took part in the Leningrad championship in 1943. The winner of that memorable tournament was KMS Fedor Sklyarov.

Today’s tournament in Vladikavkaz was dedicated to this very event and brought together 30 young chess players aged 12 to 17 years.

The winner of the blitz tournament and the recipient of a memorable award was Maxim Tedeev. Second and third places were taken by Arsen Valiev and Lana Dryaeva.

It was previously reported that more than 50 thousand schoolchildren of North Ossetia visited museums and theaters for free.
