A case was opened against the author of the Telegram channel “Women’s Power” Zalina Marshenkulova for justifying terrorism (Article 205.2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation), RIA Novosti reports, citing a source in law enforcement agencies. According to him, the reason was her publication on Telegram; he did not provide details.
The Astra Telegram channel writes that the case was opened because of the activist’s post, which allegedly justified the murder of Vladlen Tatarsky. Zalina Marshenkulova herself wrote on Telegram that they are in touch with their lawyers, but they have not yet seen the case materials. She called the opening of the case “absolute surreal and lawless.” She now lives abroad.
Military correspondent Vladlen Tatarsky died On April 2, 2023, during an explosion at the Street Food Bar cafe in St. Petersburg, where his creative evening took place. Daria Trepova brought a figurine with an explosive device to the cafe. In January 2024, the court sentenced her to 27 years in prison.
In February, the Central District Military Court sentenced to two years in prison for Yekaterinburg PR technologist Yaroslav Shirshikov for justifying the terrorist attack in which Vladlen Tatarsky died. In March, the Meshchansky District Court of Moscow arrested in absentia activist Olga Misik for publicly justifying terrorism (Part 2 of Article 205.2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation) because of her post about the death of a military correspondent.
