Last week, a case of Hong Kong influenza A (H3N2) was detected in the Sakhalin region, causing concern among local residents. This is the first case of an outbreak of this infection since its appearance in Hong Kong in 1968, writes the Telegram channel “Emergency Sakhalin”.
Experts note that the disease develops very quickly, so if suspicious symptoms appear, such as high fever and general weakness, it is recommended to consult a doctor rather than self-medicate.
Also last week, 68 cases of omicron, a variant of the coronavirus, were laboratory confirmed. A total of 2.2 thousand cases of acute respiratory viral infections (ARVI) were recorded. Rospotrebnadzor specialists note that most cases of the disease on the island are associated with parainfluenza, adenoviruses, rhinoviruses and bocaviruses.
