A blitz chess tournament was held in Tula

On August 14, a blitz chess tournament dedicated to the Day of Athlete was held at the sports school of the Olympic reserve “Yunost”. The sports event was held with the participation of men, women, children and veterans. In total, about 65 people took part in it. 11 rounds were played according to the Swiss system, time control – 3 minutes, +2 seconds for each of the moves.
Nikolai Kurenkov, born in 1936, became the most experienced participant in the blitz tournament.
In the overall standings, the Tula achieved the following results:
– Gold for Sergei Zharkovsky.
– Grigory Tkachev won silver.
– Bronze medal for Viktor Statsenko.
Among women, Anastasia Nazarova (Novomoskovsk) took the first place, Nadezhda Fedorova and Alexandra Oberman took second and third places. Among boys born in 2008, Maxim Nikonov (Bolokhovo) became the champion, among girls – Ulyana Struk (Shchekino).
