A bill on deferment from conscription for employees of the prosecutor’s office and the Investigative Committee was introduced into the Duma
The Russian government introduced to parliament bill on the extension of the rules on deferment from conscription for military service to employees in the bodies and organizations of the Prosecutor’s Office of the Russian Federation, as well as in investigative bodies and institutions of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation.
Corresponding amendments are being made to the federal law “On Military Duty and Military Service.” According to the initiatives, a deferment will be provided to citizens with higher education and special ranks for the duration of such service.
The text of the document is posted in the State Duma’s electronic database. If the law is adopted by parliament, the new norms will come into force on September 1, 2024.
