A 17-year-old hockey player died during training in the Voronezh region

Press service of the Russian Hockey Federation reportedthat in the Voronezh region, a 17-year-old forward of the Voronezh hockey club “EkoNiva-Bobrov” (part of the National Youth Hockey League) died during a sports training.
It is clarified that the tragedy occurred at the very beginning of training, when the young athletes had just stepped onto the ice.
“Venedikt Osipov, born in 2006, threw at the goal, stood in line and fell. Local forces began to provide assistance, an ambulance arrived four minutes later… but they could not save him,” the message says.
The Russian Hockey Federation stated that they would monitor the progress in determining the causes of the tragedy.
