The governor of the Voronezh region, Alexander Gusev, invited residents of Belgorod to move to temporary accommodation centers amid increasing shelling of the city. Several families have already arrived in the region. The head of the region promised to prepare more places in the TAP if necessary.
“Unfortunately, in recent days, Ukrainian shelling of residential areas and civilian enterprises in Belgorod has become more frequent. Understanding the complexity of the situation, we invited our neighbors to use our temporary accommodation centers,” Mr. Gusev wrote in Telegram.
Belgorod has been under frequent shelling since the end of last year. On December 30, a Ukrainian strike on the city killed 25 people and injured 108. The region has also been under fire for the past few days.
