The plane flying Moscow – Volgograd could not reach the fog and freezing rain.

The Aeroflot airline plane, which was flying from Moscow to Volgograd, landed at an alternate airfield – at Kurumoch Airport in Samara. This was reported in the official Telegram channel of the Volga Transport Prosecutor’s Office. The prosecutor’s office clarified that the cause was unfavorable weather conditions at the arrival airport.

According to Volgograd airport data, there was dense fog all evening, reducing visibility at times to two hundred to three hundred meters. Visibility has now improved, but the fog has been replaced by another extreme weather event – freezing rain.

For now, the departure is scheduled for 10 am (11.00 Moscow time).

The Volga Transport Prosecutor’s Office clarified that they monitor compliance with the rights of flight passengers. There were a total of 130 passengers and crew members on board. As a result, 44 people were placed in a hotel, the rest refrained from staying there.
