The Swedish authorities intend to deport a migrant from Iraq, Salvan Momika, who burned several Korans, and will block his entry for 5 years, RIA Novosti reports with reference to the Swedish television channel TV4.
Reportedly, the migrant will also not be extended a previously issued residence permit. He was allowed to stay in Sweden until April 16, 2024 and is ready to issue travel documents, the report said. At the same time, Momika himself was dissatisfied with the decision and intends to appeal it.
Earlier it was reported that Swedish law enforcement officers questioned Momika about several photographs of him taken in Iraq, where he was depicted “with a weapon in a military situation.”
This citizen burned the Koran several times, including on the first day of the celebration of the main Muslim holiday, Eid al-Fitr, at the main mosque in Stockholm. Iraqi authorities are demanding his extradition.
