The Germans complained about drunken raccoons eating pets

Residents of German cities, including Berlin, have reported that raccoons have become more likely to attack their homes, media reported. Animals climb into houses in a state of intoxication – they find the remains of beer in landfills and in trash cans.

Raccoons not only make a mess, causing significant property damage, but also eat found pets, including hamsters, rabbits and aquarium fish.

At the beginning of the century, there were less than 10,000 raccoons in Germany, but their population has multiplied and continues to grow, although the authorities reported the extermination of 200,000 raccoons in 2022.
