95 thousand residents of the Ivanovo region tried to pass the GTO standards, 55 thousand passed

On April 4, the Ivanovo region celebrated the 10th anniversary of the All-Russian physical culture and sports complex “Ready for Labor and Defense.” One of the festive events took place at the Center for Culture and Recreation, reports the press service of the government of the Ivanovo region.
The participants of the event listened to the welcoming speech of the Deputy General Director of the “Directorate of Sports and Social Projects” of the Federal operator of the GTO complex Alexander Karpov, Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Ivanovo Region Evgeniy Nesterov, and Director of the Sports Department of the Ivanovo Region Tatyana Sidorenkova.
As part of the celebrations, the following were awarded:
- commemorative medals of the Minister of Sports of the Russian Federation;
- thanks from the Department of Sports of the Ivanovo Region;
- awards to the winners of the team and individual championship of the Winter GTO Festival among municipalities;
- awards from the GTO festival among law enforcement officers;
- awards for sports veterans.
During the meeting with the participation of representatives of municipal administrations and managers in the field of physical education and sports, it turned out that the most effective municipal practices in the field of GTO were implemented in the Teykovsky and Ilyinsky districts, as well as in the city of Shuya.
Over ten years, more than 95,000 residents of the Ivanovo region visited testing centers and attempted to pass the GTO standards. Of these, 55,000 passed the standards and became owners of gold, silver and bronze insignia. There are 21 GTO sites in our region. More than 200 judges are involved in testing.
